Alberni Street’s notorious Luxury Zone was abuzz with the news that Chinese jeweller Lao Feng Xiang had chosen it’s Vancouver location to showcase their rare Imperial Jade treasures. These exquisite pieces had never before been seen outside of Mainland China and ranged in price from $300,000 for a pendant to a bracelet for $24,640,000.
For over 168 years, Lao Feng Xiang has highly valued the beauty of jade, both its intricate inlay jewelry and raw stone ornaments presenting delicate designs, fine craftsmanship, and fashion classics to the Chinese elite. The by-invitation-only viewings were held between November 25th to 27th, and allowed the west coast market to experience these pieces up close and personal.
“This event brought to Vancouver Imperial Jadeite pieces that left people speechless” said Katherine Xu, Vice President, Lao Feng Xiang Canada. “Our visiting Executive team were so pleased with the support we received from both the media and guests, it truly was more successful than we ever could have imagined”.
LFX also had their collections of Jadeite, Nephrite, Pearl, 24K Gold and Coloured Stone on display. The vibrant colour and classic styling of the pieces made for a stunning and sophisticated aside to the Passion for Jade Collection.
The red carpet event was held in their dazzling Alberni Street location and while the bubbles flowed, guests draped themselves in multi-million dollar pieces. The musical duo the Rosemary Siemens & Eli Bennett, created a very lively atmosphere with their covers of pop hits. The event was attended by VIP customers, numerous media outlets and luxury hotel concierges. MoMa created an amazing amuse-bouche, which replicated a smooth jade ball, had been created out of green apple juice, dusted with gold flake, and was presented floating delicately in a sweet syrup. It exploded upon entering the mouth and was incredibly unique and delightful.
